Known in Malay as Taman Lagenda or literally ‘Park of Legends’, this thoughtfully themed parkland covering 20 hectares showcases Langkawi’s legends, myths and folklore from prehistory to historic events of more modern times. Established in 1996 next to Eagle Square in Kuah, the park lets visitors enjoy landscaped gardens while learning about various stories that are LAGENDA PARK intertwined with many of Langkawi’s other attractions. such as the battle between two giants over a wedding argument who later turned into mounts Mat Chinchang and Gunung Raya, and the beautiful Mahsuri who was falsely charged with adultery and executed in the 1800s, or the story of the great birds, the ogres and more -17 stories in all.
