This pleasant family-activity destination first opened in 2002 as Langkawi Bird Paradise with many avian species. Over the years many more other animal types were added especially mammals and reptiles, and it was renamed Langkawi Wildlife Park in 2006. Now there are colourful birds, cute mammals, scary reptiles and even exotic orchids. While many of the animals are of the ‘less dangerous’ kind, they are nonetheless amazing and from all over the world with much ‘close encounter’, photo-taking and even feeding opportunities, plus there are excellent guides; all of which make the place perfect for kids. It is also fully covered, thus rain or shine you can enjoy an entire visit. Note the schedule to experience specific events and feeding times.
